From Self-Defence to Empowering Women: Rabail Akash

2

Rabail Akash is a businesswoman, women’s self-defence expert and Co-Founder of Mission Fit Pakistan. Her journey into self-defence began with learning from her husband, Shihan Akash, a martial arts and self-defence expert. What started as a personal skill gradually became a wider mission to help women build confidence and practical awareness.

For the past decade, Rabail has conducted women’s self-defence training, including sessions for corporate groups. Her work focuses on helping participants understand practical protective techniques, strengthen awareness of their surroundings and develop trust in their own abilities.

Skills, awareness and confidence

Self-defence education can give women tools to respond to certain situations and help them feel more prepared. Effective training should be supportive, realistic and respectful of each participant’s comfort and circumstances.

It is equally important to be clear that responsibility for violence always rests with the person who commits it—not with the person targeted. Self-defence is one possible tool for building confidence and awareness, not a guarantee of safety or a substitute for wider community responsibility.

Turning learning into purpose

Through Mission Fit Pakistan, Rabail Akash has turned personal learning into an effort to support other women. Her message is that every girl and woman deserves to feel safe, respected and capable of seeking help and support when needed.
